The main focus areas for the distribution system operator include: the empowerment of competition in the energy supply category, application of smart solutions, and assurance of the network reliability.  We are opening up the infrastructure and the data of the distribution network to enable market participants to enter and compete equally and efficiently.

The distribution system operations are carried out by Energijos Skirstymo Operatorius (ESO) of Ignitis Group, which monitors the electric power and gas distribution networks, ensures that they are reliable and effective and also connects the new clients.

The company takes care of over 125 thousand kilometres of overhead power lines and cables, operates more than 9 thousand kilometres of distribution gas pipelines. ESO is also the guaranteed supplier of electricity and gas, ensuring a continuous supply of energy to the users in the country.
