We contribute to the security of the energy system

The most important task in the area of strategic generation is the modernisation and development of the reliable local production capacities while successfully participating in the regional market of power reserves and system services.

This task falls to the group company “Ignitis Gamyba”, which runs the combined cycle unit and the reserve power plant at the Elektrėnai complex ("Ignitis Gamyba" also runs a part of Green Generation capacities in Lithuania – Kruonis Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Plant and Kaunas Hydroelectric Power Plant).

“Ignitis Gamyba” helps ensure the security and reliability of the energy system of the whole Baltic and Northern region and contributes to the historical energy transformation – the synchronisation of the Baltic States' electricity grid with the continental European system by the year 2025.

The planned group investment to the development of the strategic generation direction reaches around 600 million Euros.
