We are seeking for a skilled and experienced Offshore Submarine Cables Engineer (Electrical) specializing in submarine export and inter-array cables for offshore wind farm development. As part of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems related to submarine cables, ensuring the efficient and reliable transmission of power generated by offshore wind farms to the onshore grid. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires expertise in electrical engineering, project management, and offshore renewable energy. 

Your key areas of responsibilities will be: 

  • Provide technical electrical engineering inputs for a range of feasibility, concept, and techno-commercial study projects related to submarine export cables. Collaborate with wind turbine engineers, offshore and onshore substation electrical engineers and with procurement and engineering teams to evaluate suppliers
  • Perform technical analysis to define the inter-array and export cable design, jointing and termination design, adhering to relevant standards, legislation, ethics, and industry best practices. Develop specifications and technical documentation for contractors, ensuring alignment with project policies, regulatory requirements, and environmental considerations
  • Develop risk management plans, propose, and implement mitigation measures to ensure project success and oversee testing and accurate documentation
  • Provide technical support to technical and cross-functional departments throughout the project lifecycle. Participate in Interface meetings and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve technical issues and ensure the successful completion of the project
  • Take charge of delivering technical designs on time and ensuring high-quality output and compliance with technical standards
  • Adhere to project-specific requirements and interface agreements, ensuring seamless coordination with stakeholders
  • In conjunction with the relevant teams, review and revise the contractor's documentation
  • Contribute to tender processes and evaluate documentation to ensure adherence to relevant requirement's.

We expect that You

  • Have Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, or a relevant field
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience with high voltage HVAC export cables, array cables, and accessories for offshore wind farm projects
  • Possess the skills of a good project engineer, including technical proficiency, integrity, effective communication, adaptability, teamwork, and strong decision-making abilities
  • Have proven experience in high voltage export cables and array cables, covering cable supply including engineering/design, cable manufacturing, termination, jointing and testing for both offshore and onshore installations, including landfall/termination joint bay, adhering to relevant industry standards and international regulations
  • Have experience in conducting feasibility studies and route surveys to determine optimal installation locations for submarine export cables and in managing technical interfaces and coordinating project engineering works, facilitating seamless collaboration between different engineering disciplines and stakeholders
  • Are proficient in performing electrical calculations, simulations, and load flow analysis to assess cable performance and capacity
  • Are familiar with risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to submarine export cable projects and with relevant industry standards, regulations, and grid code requirements to ensure compliance with electrical engineering practices and safety regulations
  • Are proficient in technical documentation, specifications development, and system studies and able to work within approved budgets and under deadline pressure, ensuring efficient project execution while meeting financial constraints
  • Have English language proficiency in both verbal and written communication.
