Ignitis Group seeks partner for potential data centre development
AB “Ignitis grupė” (hereinafter – the Group) has launched a partner search and selection process for the development of data centres. The scope of the partnership includes transfer of a controlling stake in UAB Kruonis DC and, potentially, other data centre companies currently controlled by the Group to a potential partner.
The Group aims to leverage its available land, grid capacity and expertise while partnering with an experienced market participant capable of leading the further development, construction, operation and management of a large-scale data centre project(s) in Lithuania.
The entire process will be conducted in accordance with the Policy for the Full or Partial Sale of Shares in the Group's Subsidiaries (link).
Information on any binding agreements reached with potential partner(s) will be disclosed in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. The Group notes that the launch of this process does not imply that any transaction will be completed, nor that it will be completed within a specific timeframe or on specific terms.
The Group notes that on 9 March 2026 it received the updated Letter of Expectations of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania, which holds 74.99% of the shares of the Group. The Letter of Expectations outlines new strategic priorities, including the development of new business models aimed at increasing electricity demand and attracting energy-intensive industries to Lithuania, with data centres identified as a priority area.
The Group’s Strategic Plan 2026–2029 identifies data centres as a potential growth opportunity for the Group.
