We are firmly committed to building a sustainable future. We build a harmonious and long-term relationship with our stakeholders. We align our business objectives with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and strive to minimize the environmental impact of our operations.
How we work with sustainability
At Ignitis Group, we aim to create a responsible and sustainably developing business culture in the energy sector. Our commitment and operations in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Global Compact as well as our contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals help us boost our activities. As the energy sector continues its rapid transformation, responsible business conduct is reflected in both our day-to-day operations and future plans.
How we set our priorities
Stakeholder engagement
Stakeholder involvement is crucial to ensure that the Group's activities are developed responsibly and coherently. By including social and environmental issues in our relations with stakeholders, we aim not only to contribute to building a sustainable society and preserving the environment for future generations, but also to encourage others to contribute. In carrying out our activities, we strive to take into account the interests of our stakeholders and make decisions that meet their best interests.
Managing stakeholder relations
The main ways we manage relations with each stakeholder group are described in the document below. For details of our actions to meet stakeholders' expectations for the Group's sustainability, please check the 2024 Sustainability Report.
We invite you to join our impact assessment!
Currently, Ignitis Group is carrying out a materiality assessment to identify the environmental, social and governance impacts of our activities. Through this assessment, we aim to determine and set our sustainability priorities both within our own operations, as well as disclosures we publish, as foreseen by the EU regulations. It is required to conduct a Double Materiality Assessment to comply with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
We have identified stakeholder representatives, which we invite to participate in this dialogue in June 2024, kindly asking them to rate our impacts based on their importance and/or suggest new ones that are relevant. Likewise, we are also conducting public opinion research and analysing other relevant information.
If you would like to participate in the assessment, or have any ideas you would like to share, please contact us at [email protected]. You can always use this e-mail to contact us, if you would like to address any questions regarding the Group's environmental, social and governance impacts and their management.
The results of our materiality assessment will be published on this website, as well as in our annual report.
Double materiality assessment
In 2024, the Group conducted a Double Materiality Assessment (DMA), building on previous experience in assessing the materiality of sustainability-related issues. During the DMA, value chain maps were developed for all business segments, and an impact materiality (inside-out) assessment was carried out—evaluating the Group’s impact on the environment and society. The Group also assessed the financial materiality (outside-in) of sustainability-related risks and opportunities that may affect the Group.
In assessing impact materiality, the Group considered both positive and negative impacts, as well as actual and potential impacts related to sustainability topics. In assessing financial materiality, the Group evaluated potential sustainability-related risks that could have a significant negative financial impact on the business. Similarly, it assessed opportunities that could result in a significant positive financial impact.
As part of the DMA, the Group engaged in direct dialogue with affected stakeholders regarding the actual or potential impacts of its activities—this served as a form of internal validation of the results.
For more information on the DMA, as well as material impacts, risks, and opportunities, please refer to the 2024 Sustainability Report.
