The parent company
The parent company analyses the activities of the Group companies, represents the whole Group, implements its shareholder’s rights and obligations, defines operation guidelines and rules, and coordinates the activities in the fields of finance, law, strategy and development, human resources, risk management, audit, technology, communication, etc. Companies owned by Ignitis Group.
Ignitis Group is the largest public company in the Baltic states. It is listed on Nasdaq Vilnius and London Stock Exchange.
Key facts
In 2020, Ignitis Group completed the largest initial public offering (IPO) in the Baltic states and successfully secured EUR 450 million. Investors can acquire the company’s shares on Nasdaq Vilnius and London Stock Exchange.
The Group comprises more than 50 companies operating in the Baltic states, Poland and Finland. The activities of the Group include green electricity generation and development of green and flexible technologies, energy distribution and supply, development of energy-smart solutions and other related activities.
Ignitis Group has an operating innovation hub since 2018, which brings external and internal initiatives of the Group together, thus, facilitating the development of technologies and implementation of innovative ideas. We provide an opportunity for other companies to use and share open data, test their technologies and attract funding for advanced energy and e-mobility solutions.
We are the first to enter the offshore market in the Baltic states. In 2023, Ignitis Renewables, a subsidiary of the Group, won the rights to develop an offshore wind farm (the capacity is 0.7 GW) in the Lithuanian waters near Palanga and in two sea areas in Estonia (the total capacity is 1–1.5 GW).
We are expanding the Kruonis Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Power Plant (Kruonis PSHP) and building unit 5, which in 2026 should increase the capacity of the plant to 1,010 MW. Kruonis PSHP is providing balancing services and is unique in the Baltics. It can provide a constant supply of electricity to the entire Lithuania for around 12 hours. The expansion of the power plant will contribute towards the energy independence of the region, help ensure the development of renewables and the reliability of the energy system.
