We are currently looking for a new colleague to join the Ignitis Latvia team, where you’ll be responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of accounting team and ensure that accurate financial and management accounts are produced. You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:

  • Monitoring changes in tax and accounting regulations and their implementation in the Group of the companies, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and standards 
  • Managing all accounting processes by organizing and keeping 12 companies accounting records 
  • Creating accounting policy and its development as well as conduct credit control and tax policy
  • Supervising daily accounting operations, in particular bookkeeping, control of payments and invoices, and settlement of costs and revenues  
  • Preparing reports for the Group, including monthly results
  • Keeping close communication with external auditors and tax advisors, including preparation of materials and participation in a financial audit  
  • Advising the management board on financial and accounting issues and participate in strategic planning and decisions regarding investments and company development  
  • Managing the internal accounting team  
  • Identifying the areas for improvement and implement more effective accounting procedures, including the use of technology to automate processes

Required for this position:

  • Master's degree in the field of finance, accounting or economics 
  • 5 years of experience as a chief accountant. Experience in the energy sector will be an additional advantage 
  • Proven track record in internal department building “from scratch” and with ERP software implementation (MS Dynamics preferred) 
  • Well aware of tax and accounting regulations, and familiar with international accounting standards (IFRS) 
  • Knowledge across audit processes and preparation of audit documentation 
  • Proficient user of accounting software Microsoft Dynamics 
  • Excellent leadership, team management and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and manage external relations 
  • Strong organizational skills, ease of adapting to changes and ability to continuously improve and develop professionally 
  • Proficiency in both oral and written English (as this role involves regular communication with international colleagues and partners)

Salary range for this position group

is 3490 to 5230 EUR (before taxes). The final offer depends on experience and competence. Variable part of remuneration may be paid depending on results.
