HEALTH AND SAFETY SPECIALIST (F/M/D) I IGNITIS RENEWABLES
We are currently looking for a new colleague to join the Health and Safety Office at Ignitis Renewables, where you will ensure that operational and maintenance activities across our renewable energy assets are carried out safely, in full compliance with health and safety standards, and with a strong focus on risk prevention and a safety-first culture. You will contribute to the creation of a green and secure energy ecosystem by:
- Developing and implementing tailored health and safety policies and procedures for operations and maintenance (O&M) activities, including safe equipment usage and maintenance practices
- Identifying and assessing risks through job hazard analyses and evaluations, implementing control measures, and ensuring a safe operational environment
- Conducting regular inspections and audits of O&M areas, equipment, and tools to ensure safety compliance and support Asset Management obligations
- Investigating incidents, accidents, and near-misses, preparing reports, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Organising and delivering safety training programs, emergency drills, and PPE instruction while promoting a safety-first mindset through active collaboration with O&M managers and coordination with employees, contractors, and regulatory bodies
- Ensuring compliance with national and international health and safety regulations, while staying up to date with evolving legislation and standards
- Developing and coordinating emergency preparedness plans specific to operational environments, including inspection of emergency systems and regular local drills
- Overseeing the safe storage and handling of hazardous materials, and ensuring maintenance teams follow equipment servicing protocols
- Managing contractors on-site, ensuring full compliance with safety standards, permit-to-work systems, and implementation of Wind Turbine Safety Rules across all service providers.
Required for this position:
- Higher education in health and safety or a related field, in compliance with the qualification requirements for health and safety specialists
- At least 5 years of experience as a Health and Safety Specialist specifically within the renewables sector, covering construction or operations and maintenance activities
- Solid knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation, with strong understanding of operational risk assessment and prevention practices
- Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and promoting safe work practices across diverse teams
- Certifications such as NEBOSH or equivalent would be a strong advantage (training can be provided if needed)
- Excellent computer literacy, especially in MS Office programs, including advanced Excel and the ability to create clear presentations for senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail in high-pressure environments
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain safety requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to travel and stay overnight as required for the role.

Salary range for this position group
