Scada & communication engineer (f/m/d) i ignitis renewables
We are currently looking for a new colleague to join the Control Room Team of the Ignitis Renewables, where you’ll take care of maintaining, optimizing, and securing SCADA and other communication systems used in wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) within renewable energy parks. You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:
- Maintaining and optimizing SCADA and communication systems across renewable energy assets (wind, solar, BESS), ensuring high system uptime
- Designing and implementing automation processes to streamline operations and enhance system responsiveness
- Conducting regular system audits for cybersecurity compliance and implementing protection measures
- Troubleshooting system issues, performing root cause analysis, and resolving incidents effectively
- Managing real-time responses to system alarms and coordinating with engineering and IT teams
- Monitoring network performance and ensuring stable communication systems across energy assets
- Performing regular system health checks and implementing solutions to ensure reliable network communications
Required for this position:
- High school diploma or Bachelor's degree (preferably in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, Computer Science, or a related field)
- 1-3 years of experience with SCADA and communication systems in renewable energy (wind, solar, BESS)
- Experience working with SCADA platforms and technologies, especially in energy operations and substations
- Familiarity with SCADA communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, OPC)
- Knowledge of automation technologies and cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems (ICS)
- Strong communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (engineering, IT, control room)
Would be an advantage:
- Understanding of substation technologies and operations within renewable energy parks
- Strong grasp of network security protocols and experience implementing monitoring solutions.
