SENIOR WIND ENERGY YIELD ASSESSMENT ANALYST (F/M/D) I IGNITIS RENEWABLES

Vilnius
Full-time
Salary from 3594 to 5390 €

We are currently looking for a new colleague to join the Wind Engineering team at Ignitis Renewables, where you’ll take the lead in evaluating and forecasting energy yield for onshore wind projects to support high-quality technical and financial decision-making. If that speaks to you, we’d be happy to welcome you to our team!

Take YOUR part in #EnergySmart!

You will contribute to a green and secure energy ecosystem by:

  • Analyzing and validating meteorological data (wind speed, direction, shear, turbulence, etc.) to develop accurate energy yield modelling
  • Carrying out and performing quality assurance of wind farm layout optimisation, considering environmental constraints (e.g. bat/bird, shadow, noise) and requirements from planning authorities, TSOs, and other stakeholders
  • Independently conducting and checking all steps of wind resource and energy yield assessments (WRA/EYA) for onshore wind farms, including preparation and review of technical reports detailing methodology and results
  • Using industry-standard and internal tools to assess wind resource, evaluate turbine layouts and technologies, and conduct sensitivity analyses to identify risks and uncertainties affecting energy output and financial performance
  • Performing validations of actual energy production against AEP assumptions during project operational phases
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (engineering, data, development, M&A) to integrate energy yield assessments into project design and financial modelling
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and environmental requirements for WRA and EYA, while providing recommendations and insights based on analytical findings
  • Keeping up to date with developments in wind energy and contributing to the improvement of WRA and EYA methodologies and tools in consultation with the Wind Engineering Team Lead.

Required for this position:

  • An academic degree in engineering, physics, meteorology, renewable energy, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with proven expertise in wind resource and energy yield assessment (WRA/EYA)
  • Proficiency in using WindPRO or similar wind energy assessment software for modelling and layout optimisation
  • Demonstrated experience with wind measurement techniques (e.g., met masts, remote sensing) and interpreting complex wind data
  • Good understanding of wind physics, wind energy technologies, and data analysis methods, including basic knowledge of GIS
  • Familiarity with financial modelling inputs from an EYA perspective, and the ability to deliver high-quality technical reports on tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially advanced use of Excel
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to review and quality-assure the work of others
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.

Would be an advantage:

  • Experience in Visual Basic, Python or similar programming tools for WRA/EYA domain.

In return for creating a more sustainable future, we promise:

  • To take part in an unfolding energy transformation process to create a 100% green and secure energy ecosystem for both current and future generations
  • International team that is working on dynamic renewable energy projects
  • A hybrid work model (3+2) and flexible working hours
  • Extensive learning and qualification enhancement programs
  • Attention to physical and emotional health: wellness mentor initiatives and psychological support, etc.
  • Additional paid days for health improvement, short-term illness, volunteering, and accumulated work experience
  • A package of additional benefits to choose from: pension accumulation, health insurance, or another benefit from the selectable benefits list in the MELP application.

Join a growing and increasingly international team of energy smart people united by a common purpose. We all play our part in creating a 100% green and secure energy ecosystem for current and future generations.
