Lietuvos Energija group is centralizing its processes and making them more efficient

Companies of the state-owned Lietuvos Energija Group (hereinafter - the Group) agreed to concentrate part of the functions serving the core activity in a separately established enterprise UAB Verslo aptarnavimo centras in order to improve the processes and reduce their costs. This company will provide to the Group public procurement, accounting and labour relations administration services.  
 
Five companies of the Group signed incorporation agreement of UAB Verslo aptarnavimo centras. The new enterprise will be registered in the Register of Legal Entities in the nearest future.
 
In the centralization of public procurement, accounting and labour relations administration processes, the aim is to standardize them, ensure greater transparency and efficiency as well as faster performance thereof. Such concentration model of serving processes is in line with best practices applicable throughout the world.
 
“With Lietuvos Energija Group engaging in new activities, its liability as well as importance of efficiency increases. For this reason, we seek to concentrate and maximize the efficient exploitation of skills of specialists working in the Group as well as of operating synergy possibilities - said the Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager of the Group’s holding company Lietuvos  Energija, UAB Dr. Dalius Misiūnas. – We expect for such a decision to help reduce costs of these processes undergoing centralization up to 15 percent”. 
 
He stated that the establishment of a company providing specialized services is another important step in the implementation of the Group’s corporate governance model.
 
The plan is to have UAB Verslo aptarnavimo centras first of all take over public procurement functions in October of this year. In December, the company will start providing centralized accounting services, and in spring of the next year - administrating labour relations in companies of the Group. All public procurement, accounting and labour relations administration specialists currently employed in Group’s companies will be brought together into the new company.
 
The incorporation agreement of UAB Verslo aptarnavimo centras was signed by the Group’s parent company Lietuvos Energija, UAB, electricity generation and trading company Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba, AB, distribution networks operator AB LESTO, liquefied natural gas supplier UAB LITGAS and UAB Technologijų ir inovacijų centras providing IT and telecommunications services.
 
Authorized capital of the established private limited liability company will be LTL 100 000. Lietuvos Energija, UAB, Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba, AB, AB LESTO, UAB LITGAS and UAB Technologijų ir inovacijų centras will acquire 50 per cent, 20 per cent, 20 per cent, 5 per cent and 5 per cent of shares of the established company, respectively.
