Two professionals with international experience will join the Supervisory Board of Ignitis Group

  • During the General Meeting of Shareholders of Ignitis Group two additional independent members of the Supervisory Board were approved – Bent Christensen ir Judith Buss.
  • The new members have extensive international experience in global energy companies.
  • The newly elected members are appointed to the Supervisory Board until 29 August 2021, the end of the current term of the Supervisory Board.

During the General Meeting of Shareholders on 12 November two new independent members of the Supervisory Board of the Group were approved – Bent Christensen and Judith Buss. They both have extensive experience in global energy sector companies, and were selected as candidates in October by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania.

J.Buss has more than 20 years of experience in various leadership positions in the global energy industry and has worked internationally in Germany, Norway and UK. She also has significant experience in corporate finance, leading and negotiating large international M&A growth acquisitions and organisational & cultural change processes.

“I am very excited about Ignitis‘ journey towards green energy and energy-smart solutions for people and businesses. I am looking forward to working with a very professional and experienced Supervisory Board and management team, jointly contributing to further pursue the strategic expansion of the business”, said J.Buss.

B. Christensen has more than 35 years of experience in energy sector and performed managerial roles in companies like Siemens and Orsted.

This will entail new smart energy solutions and business models involving innovation and digitalization. I believe that their professional insights and international experience will be an impetus for the further development of the company, the implementation of national energy goals and the move towards green energy” , said Deputy Minister of Finance, Darius Sadeckas.

Darius Daubaras, Chairman of Ignitis Group Supervisory Board, also congratulated the new independent members on their election to the Supervisory Board.

“B.Christensen and J.Buss are energy sector professionals with extensive international experience who will contribute to the goals set by Ignitis Group, including leading the energy transition in the region. These experienced managers will also strengthen the governance of the listed company and accountability to the shareholders”, said D.Daubaras.

The newly elected members are appointed to the Supervisory Board until 29 August 2021, the end of the current term of the Supervisory Board.

Currently, the independent members of the Supervisory Board are: Darius Daubaras, the Chair of the Supervisory Board and a Member of The Committee for Risk Management and Business Ethics Supervision; Daiva Lubinskaitė-Trainauskienė, the Chair of The Nomination and Remuneration Committee; Andrius Pranckevičius, the Chair of The Committee for Risk Management and Business Ethics Supervision. The Ministry of Finance representatives in the Supervisory Board are: Daiva Kamarauskienė, a Member of The Nomination and Remuneration Committee, and Aušra Vičkačkienė, a Member of The Audit Committee and The Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
