UAB Vilniaus kogeneracinė jėgainė
Vilnius Combined Heat and Power Plant is one of the most technologically advanced cogeneration plants in Europe. It can generate electricity and heat simultaneously and cover around 40% of the annual district heating demand in the capital. The plant is using two types of fuel, non-hazardous non-recyclable municipal waste left after sorting and biofuel. The waste-to-energy (WtE) unit has one boiler, and the biomass unit has two.
