Ignitis Group announces selection process for an Independent Board Member of UAB Elektroninių mokėjimų agentūra

Ignitis Group, the leading integrated energy group in the Baltic states, announced a selection process for the position of Independent Board Member of its subsidiary UAB Elektroninių mokėjimų agentūra (EMA) (in the area of financial institutions’ operations), as the term of office of the current EMA Board expires on 5 December 2026.

The selection of an Independent Board Member of UAB Elektroninių mokėjimų agentūra is being conducted for a new four-year term. EMA is Ignitis Group’s financial technology company, holding a payment institution licence and providing utility and other payment collection services.

The EMA Board consists of three members: one independent member (with expertise in financial institutions’ operations) and two shareholder representatives (with expertise in financial management and in strategic management and commerce). The selection for shareholder representative positions will be announced soon.

Candidates for the position of Independent Board Member of EMA are required to have at least five years of management experience in licensed financial institutions as well as knowledge of payment institution’s business models and financial market regulatory principles. Experience in the areas of anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, fraud prevention, and international sanctions requirements, risk management, compliance and knowledge of corporate governance principles is also expected. The selected candidate must meet the requirements applicable to managers of financial market participants under relevant legislation and the regulations of the Bank of Lithuania. The final candidate will be subject to the approval of the Bank of Lithuania.

The selection process will be conducted in accordance with the Procedure for the Selection of Candidates to the Collegial Supervisory or Management Bodies of State- or Municipal-Owned Enterprises, State- or Municipal-Controlled Enterprises and Their Subsidiaries, approved by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania. The international executive search firm Pedersen & Partners will assist in the search and selection of candidates.
