Ignitis Group ranked among the top 1% of companies worldwide for sustainability performance

The international business sustainability assessment platform EcoVadis has awarded Ignitis Group its highest rating, the Platinum Medal. With a score of 90 out of 100, the Group has been ranked among the top 1% of highest-rated companies worldwide. This is the highest result achieved by Ignitis Group to date.

“Sustainability considerations have become one of the key principles guiding both strategic and day-to-day decision-making across Ignitis Group. International assessments allow us to evaluate our progress and benchmark it against global best practices,” says Valentas Neviera, Head of Sustainability at Ignitis Group.

EcoVadis is one of the world's largest corporate sustainability assessment platforms, evaluating organisations across the areas of environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The assessment takes into account not only a company's commitments or policies, but also the specific actions taken, measures implemented and the results achieved. Assessment criteria are adapted to a company's sector, size and geography, enabling comparisons of organisational maturity on a global scale.

In its latest assessment, Ignitis Group reached the 99th percentile, meaning its result was higher than that of 99% of all organisations assessed by EcoVadis worldwide over the past year.Compared to the previous assessment, the Group's score improved significantly, rising from 77 to 90 points out of 100.

“The improved result was driven not by a single change, but by consistent efforts over time. We strengthened the management of occupational health and safety, environmental, human rights and sustainable procurement topics through close collaboration with Group companies and functions. At the same time, artificial intelligence tools helped us perform analyses more quickly and manage the required information more efficiently. This reflects the growing maturity of sustainability practices across the entire Group,” says V. Neviera.

Until now, such a high EcoVadis rating had been achieved by only one of the Group's companies, Ignitis UAB. In 2022, the company was also ranked among the top 1% most sustainable companies worldwide. This year marks the first time that the entire Ignitis Group has been assessed at this level.
