Ignitis looking for the manager of their Latvian branch, whose goal will be the development of green energy

Ignitis Renewables, an international green energy company that is part of the Ignitis Group, has announced a recruitment campaign for the position of Branch Manager in Latvia. The main goal for the new manager will be to implement a business strategy for renewable energy development in the local market. The focus will be on the development of wind power parks on land and at sea, and also solar power plants.

“Latvia is one of our home markets, where Ignitis Renewables is actively expanding its activities and sees further growth potential. Our target for 2030 is to increase the renewable project portfolio in Latvia from 1 GW in 2022 to 2.5 GW. Naturally, to achieve local development, we aim to build a strong team of professionals. The manager in Latvia will be responsible for the operations of a separate branch of the company, will have the power to expand activities in line with the company’s strategy and provide leadership for local professionals,” explained Thierry Aelens, CEO of Ignitis Renewables. The company already has branch managers in Poland and Estonia.

Applicants for the role of Branch Manager in Latvia must have a master’s degree in business, finance, engineering or law and at least 5 years’ experience working in the energy, real estate or information technology and communication sectors. They must also be competent in Latvian and English.

Aelens notes that they are looking for an experienced manager, a leader who is not afraid of challenges, has directly relevant experience and will actively cooperate with the public and authorities, representing the company in all aspects in the public sphere. “Green energy projects are planned for many years ahead, so it will be equally important for the new manager to develop and implement greenfield investment in solar or wind power projects and to promote green energy ideas across society,” Aelens added.  

Ignitis Renewables currently operates four wind parks in Lithuania, two more parks in Poland and Estonia, and is developing renewable energy projects totalling around 400 MW. New wind power projects are also under development in Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. In developing these new projects, the company is implementing the strategic goal of the Ignitis Group to achieve 4.0 GW installed capacity for a generation of green energy across the Baltic Sea region by 2030.
