Ignitis is preparing to expand the EV charging network in the Baltic states with Eimantas Balta joining to spearhead the efforts

Ignitis ON is managing the largest EV charging network in Lithuania and is looking to expand in the Baltics. The company is planning a rapid network development in Latvia and Estonia. Eimantas Balta was selected to lead the new e-mobility unit established in Ignitis. Eimantas has been working in an international technology company Bold for over five years.

The new Head of E-mobility will start working on 13 March.

Ignitis has established an e-mobility unit at the end of 2022 in order to focus on one of the strategic directions of the company, which is expansion of the EV charging network in the Baltic states.

“Probably no one is doubting any more that transport electrification is unavoidable future. Transitioning to EVs requires a fully developed infrastructure. I joined Ignitis with a clear vision on how to achieve the ambitious strategy of Ignitis ON while connecting and expanding the EV charging infrastructure in the Baltics. Strong team, huge potential and opportunities motivate me to dedicate my experience and energy to EV network expansion,” said Eimantas Balta.

Ignitis ON has plans to install several thousand of charging points in Latvia by 2026, and in the next year the first EV charging stations should be made available in Estonia too.

The new Head of E-mobility has over five years of experience working in an international technology company Bolt, where he spent the last three years focusing on issues of expansion of services in the Baltic states.
