Dovilė Morkvėnaitė, Head of Wholesale Electricity at Ignitis, has been appointed to the Customer Advisory Board of Nord Pool, a wholesale power market. With extensive experience in the energy sector, she is the only representative from Lithuania and one of two women on the 13-member board.

In this role, D. Morkvėnaitė will represent the interests of the Baltic region by initiating relevant topics while providing recommendations to Nord Pool on improving market processes, enhancing the market participant experience and increasing its overall efficiency.

"When I received the invitation to join the advisory board, I didn't hesitate for a moment. This is a unique opportunity to present the Baltic region's expertise and voice its needs in high-level discussions. It is also an opportunity to share the energy-related knowledge I accumulated and, together with experts from other countries, look for ways to strengthen market reliability," says the new member of the Customer Advisory Board.

D. Morkvėnaitė has more than 15 years of experience in the energy sector. She began her professional career as an electricity trading analyst. Now, the team she leads is responsible for electricity portfolio management, wholesale pricing, financial trading, power purchase agreements (PPAs) and sustainability solutions.

"Professionalism, a deep understanding of the market and the ability to mobilise the team for a common goal are the fundamental values that guide my work. I believe that competence, not other factors, is the key to success in creating a reliable and efficient energy market," adds D. Morkvėnaitė.
