Timo Tatar will head Ignitis Group's activities in Estonia

A new executive will be responsible for the Estonian market activities of the integrated renewable energy company Ignitis Group. As of September, Timo Tatar, former Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Estonia, with more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector, will take over the position of CEO of Ignitis Eesti.

Ignitis Eesti offers energy supply services to customers in the Estonian energy market, develops charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, and contributes to improving energy efficiency.

"Timo Tatar's many years of experience and in-depth knowledge in the energy sector is a great asset to our company. I believe that his leadership will help Ignitis Group to continue its successful expansion in the Estonian market by offering innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers and contribute to the transformation of the Estonian energy sector," says Vidmantas Salietis, Ignitis Group Management Board Member and Chief Commercial Officer.

Timo Tatar is an experienced energy leader who worked for 11 years at the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications. For five years, he was Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, responsible for formulating and developing the country's energy policy. Before joining the ministry Timo Tatar led Eesti Energia's power generation development team.

Timo Tatar was also a member of the Supervisory Board of Elering AS for more than ten years and started his career in the energy sector with Fortum, one of the largest energy companies in Europe.

Ignitis Group is represented in Estonia by two companies, Ignitis Eesti and Ignitis Renewables. Ignitis Eesti's core business is the supply of gas and electricity to customers. Active on the Estonian market since 2013, Ignitis also actively develops green energy, offering innovative and energy efficient solutions that help Estonia achieve its ambitious sustainable energy goals. In the meantime, Ignitis Renewables develops renewable energy projects in Estonia.
