Board and General Manager elected for “Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba”

The supervisory board of national electricity producer “Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba” elected a new company board today for a term of four years. Immediately thereafter, Juozas Bartlingas was appointed Chairman of the Board and General Manager for the Company at the first meeting of the new board. Director of the Power Generation Department, Mr Bartlingas was previously the acting General Manager of Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba
 
A total of five people will serve on the “Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba” Board: the Chairman of the Board, who will also serve as General Manager, as well as four other members who will oversee specific areas of the Company's activities and will hold management positions in the respective departments.

The supervisory board turned over the helm to these people without any doubt regarding their ability to effectively manage a company of such strategic importance," says Dalius Misiūnas, Chairman of the supervisory board of “Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba” and Chairman of the Board and CEO of its parent company, “Lietuvos Energija”.
 
Juozas Bartlingas, the new Chairman of the Board and General Manager for “Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba”, began working at the Kaunas Hydroelectric Power Plant immediately after graduation, and later moved to the Kaunas Combined Heat and Power Plant. He took on a managerial position at the Kaunas Hydroelectric Power Plant after returning there in 1992, and later at “Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba”, which controls the reserve power station and combined cycle unit in Elektrėnai, the Kruonis Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Power Plant, and the Kaunas Hydroelectric Power Plant.
Previously the director of the Company's Business Development Department, Eglė Čiužaitė will be responsible for financial and treasury management. Ms Čiužaitė earned a master's degree in Finance and International Business at the University of Aarhus in Denmark (formerly Aarhus School of Business), and has worked in the energy sector since 2010.
 
Electricity and heat production management will be overseen by Darius Kucinas, who has been head of the Combined Cycle Unit Division since January 2012. After studying energy engineering at Kaunas University of Technology, he spent nearly 17 years at the Kaunas Hydroelectric Power Plant, where he held managerial positions.
 
Adomas Birulis, who is currently the head of the Development Projects Department, will be responsible for supervision of “Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba's” strategy and development projects. Mr Birulis studied Renewable Energy Enterprise and Management at Newcastle University (England), and has worked in the Lithuanian energy sector since 2010.
 
Vidmantas Salietis, currently the director of the Wholesale Electricity Trade Department, will oversee the Company's trade activities on the electricity market. A graduate of Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, Mr Salieitis has worked at the Company since the beginning of 2011.

The board of “Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba” will be accountable to the Company's supervisory board - which consists of “Lietuvos Energija” Chairman of the Board and CEO Dalius Misiūnas, “Lietuvos Energija” Production and Service Director Liudas Liutkevičius and independent member Pranas Vilkas - and the General Meeting.
 
Once the board of “Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba” was elected, the Company's management responsibilities were separated and the management restructuring which was being implemented within the “Lietuvos Energija” group of companies in accordance with the corporate governance guidelines for the state-controlled group of energy companies approved by a resolution of the Minister of Finance was completed.
 
It is planned that the activities of the entire group of companies will continue to be streamlined by adopting long-term strategic and systemic solutions.
