Ignitis, an energy solutions company, is continuing to expand its EV fast charging network, Ignitis ON, in the Baltic states by developing charging stations along the A1 highway, which connects the three largest cities in Lithuania: Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda. The latest development stage includes a recreational homestead, Karpynė, which will have 2 very fast (300 kW) charging stations and 2 fast (50 kW) charging stations installed by 4th December.

According to Eimantas Balta, Head of EV Charging Network for Baltics at Ignitis, the new charging points will allow drivers to conveniently charge their vehicles, and the time there will fly by with plenty of activities and entertainment around.

The EV charging stations will be able to charge 8 EVs simultaneously. Drivers will be able to choose a charging point capacity based on its capacity, their needs and their vehicle. There will be a total of 4 very fast charging points with additional CHAdeMO connectors and 4 fast charging points.

The Ignitis ON EV charging points installed at Karpynė will use CSS connectors. CSS is the main fast and very fast charging connector used in Europe. The CCS connector is used by the vast majority of EVs made for the European market. The charging stations will also have CHAdeMO connectors, which are mainly used in Nissan and Mitsubishi EVs.

“Our latest partnership is an important step in expanding the EV charging network in Lithuania. We strive to make the EV journeys as simple and as comfortable as possible throughout Lithuania. Also, what may surprise you, besides the EV charging speed at Karpynė, is the impressive location with water bodies and various activities. EV’s battery will be charged to 80% in fifteen minutes using the 300 kW charging points, provided that the EV itself is capable of charging at such speed and capacity. Currently, not many EVs are able to utilise the full capacity of such charging points, but their number is increasing every year. You will probably need more than fifteen minutes to check out all the activities at Karpynė, but however long you will need to charge, you will be comfortable and able to relax in a beautiful part of Lithuania,” commented Eimantas Balta.

“We always try to ensure our customers are comfortable at Karpynė. The partnership with Ignitis ON allows us to offer comfortable conditions for EV drivers. We believe that time will fly by for EV drivers while their EVs are charging because we have fun activities both in winter and in summer, so every person can find an activity that they like,” commented Kristina Viršilienė, Karpynė Homestead Manager, on the partnership.

Thanks to the new Ignitis ON charging points, a recreation centre of Karpynė contributes to the development of sustainable and environmentally friendly infrastructure. Travellers will have an easy time planning their trips, knowing that here they will find everything they need for a comfortable and pleasant stop.

Also, this year Ignitis ON made EV drivers travelling to the seaside excited because at the end of May it opened the largest fast charging hub in Palanga and at the end of August it installed four very fast charging points in Nida. The development of EV charging points continues apace throughout Lithuania and other Baltic countries.

All EV charging points can be easily located using the Ignitis ON app. The app allows you to quickly find the nearest charging station, monitor your charging session, prices and make payments. The app also provides 24/7 assistance, thus ensuring your journeys are smooth.
