“Lietuvos energija” seeks to expand energy production from renewable resources
The state-owned energy company group "Lietuvos energija" seeks to expand its activities in the field of renewable energy. The company published a non-binding appeal to the members of the energy sector and invites them to apply with proposals for the sale of power plants or their parks and solar, wind, biofuel or biogas energy projects which are still in development.
"By implementing our long-term strategy we are aiming to diversify our energy production capacities. Meanwhile, both global agreements and the new energy strategy of Lithuania provide us with a clear direction of energy sector development - through the increased energy production from renewable resources. Therefore, it is natural that we are also moving in this direction in order to expand our existing production portfolio while contributing to the sustainable development of energy sector", says Dominykas Tučkus, director of production and services of “Lietuvos Energija”.
According to him, the company previously announced a public call for the acquisition of wind park projects, but the received proposals it did not meet expectations. This time announcing a non-binding appeal, “Lietuvos energija” did not confine itself to wind energy projects alone. At the company's sight there are also active solar, biofuel and biogas power plants and projects which are still in development.
"By this invitation we are expanding the range of renewable energy resources, having assessed both local and global energy development tendencies and issuing green bonds, we are fully prepared to actively contribute to the development of green energy," - says D. Tučkus.
