The Supervisory Board of AB “Ignitis grupė” (the “Parent Company”) announces a selection process for the position of Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Management Board.

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Management Board will lead Ignitis Group through the next phase of the regional energy transition, focused on sustainable value creation, energy security and long-term competitiveness. The role carries overall accountability for the Group’s performance, disciplined capital allocation and execution of strategic priorities across the integrated business.

As Chief Executive Officer, you will drive the execution of the Group’s strategy, ensure strong operational and financial performance, and lead the executive team in delivering sustainable value for shareholders and society. You will shape a purpose-driven culture across the Group, guided by the Group’s core mindsets, while representing the Group with investors, regulators, policymakers, and other key stakeholders. You will also ensure effective communication and organizational resilience across the Group.

As Chair of the Management Board, you will foster effective decision-making and work together with the Management Board to ensure high standards of governance and oversight across the Group, including supervision of subsidiaries and participation in their governing bodies, where applicable.

Working closely with the Supervisory Board, you will help shape the Group’s long-term direction and ensure disciplined execution of its strategic priorities.

The salary range for the Chief Executive Officer position is from EUR 21,660 to EUR 25,000 (before tax). The final offer will depend on the candidate’s experience and competencies. A variable part of remuneration would be paid depending on the results.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory:

  • 7–10 years in senior executive roles with a full P&L responsibility, including at least 3 years in CEO or equivalent leadership capacity (e.g. Business Unit Leader, Regional Head) within a large, complex organization (500+ employees), operating internationally
  • Experience operating in highly regulated, capital-intensive and/or politically exposed sectors, with the ability to navigate regulatory frameworks and public scrutiny effectively
  • Proven ability to define and execute organization-level strategy, translating market, policy and technological developments into clear strategic direction, with a strong focus on value creation, capital discipline and long-term performance
  • Demonstrated track record in disciplined capital allocation, investment decision-making and portfolio optimization, balancing growth, returns and risk in complex environments
  • Strong experience driving operational performance, cost efficiency, and reliability at scale; consistent delivery of complex programs and investments with robust governance and execution discipline
  • Significant experience working with boards, supervisory bodies and shareholders, with a clear understanding of governance, accountability and decision-making in listed or similarly complex organizations
  • Proven ability to engage credibly at the highest levels with external stakeholders (for example, government, regulators, investors and public stakeholders) including managing sensitive, high-profile and political interfaces
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large organization through periods of change, including transformation, market shifts or external shocks; builds high-performance, accountable and engaged cultures
  • English and Lithuanian language skills of C1 level or higher

Advantages:

  • Experience managing across multiple geographies, with exposure to Baltic, Nordic or Central and Eastern European markets
  • Experience operating within a listed company (c. €1bn + market capitalization), with strong understanding of investor expectations and capital allocation
  • Senior leadership experience within the energy or utilities sector
  • Understanding of energy policy, regulatory frameworks and market dynamics at national, regional and EU level
  • Familiarity with renewable energy, storage, flexibility solutions and evolving system design, with the ability to assess their strategic and economic relevance
  • Leadership approach that combines strategic oversight with strong connection to operational realities across sites and teams
  • Experience shaping or delivering ESG strategies within industrial or infrastructure-related sectors

The CEO will be appointed for a fixed-term five-year contract (in accordance with Article 37(1) of the Law on Companies of the Republic of Lithuania) while the appointment as Chair of the Management Board will remain effective until the end of the current term of office of the Management Board. In addition, the selected candidate will be required to enter into a non-compete agreement.

About the selection procedure

The executive search agency “Pedersen & Partners” will support the selection process. By submitting the application, candidates confirm that they meet all general selection requirements and that they are familiar with the legal obligations that arise if they are selected and appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Management Board. Candidates may be asked to provide additional documentation demonstrating compliance with the above requirements.
